I gave up waiting for rain and started bicycling to work again. The upshot is that I am slowly finding my way back to shooting the East Bay streets. I’ve felt disconnected from it for quite a while, and I started to think maybe my photography stint was over. Now I’m feeling optimistic.
Awnings. El Caminos. What else can I say?
I have been bike commuting past this odd assortment of vehicles for a year. There’s actually two electrics. None have moved an inch. Every time I go past think about stopping to shoot, but I’m so eager to just get home, that I don’t do it. This, despite the fact that I know damn well that the very day I am ready to take a picture they will all have been towed off. So, the day I had the new D800 with me, I actually took a quick shot. I would not have thought the camera would disappear before the cars.
An unusual route taken after biking my kid to camp and then stopping in at the school district office to again prove we live within the district for the coming school year. At least I saw some beautiful decay because of it.
Sedan de Ville and corrugated steel, that is. Yes, I seem to be back on the car crack.
